Australian Government Today by Geoffrey Sawer

Professor Sawer's classic description of how Australians govern themselves has been completely revised for this new edition. Australian Government Today has been a best-seller ever since it first appeared in 1948; a whole generation of Australians, with this book's guidance, has found its way through the forests of seven parliaments, the undergrowth of the public service and of local government, and other baffling terrain. The author is not only a distinguished lawyer, but also such a master of clear explanation that his book is a positive pleasure to read.
