Foreword: "It gives me great pleasure to launch this small booklet as a record of the Pacific women attending the inaugural meeting of the newly established Pacific Graduate Women's Network, the newest grouping of the International Federation of University Women (IFUW). It is fitting that the Fiji Association of Women Graduates, the most senior Pacific Island member of the ever-expanding family of IFUW, accepted the challenge to be the first to lead PGWNet. ... The theme of the conference was "Linking Pacific Women in a Globalised World". Over three days, Professor Brigid Limerick from the School of Education, University of Queensland, guided participants through the fact of this theme. The keynote speaker was Motarilavoa Hilda Lini, Director of the Pacific Concerns Resources Centre in Fiji, who gave a challenging public lecture entitled: "Enhancing Indigenous Knowledge with Modern Education and Technology". -- Reiko Aoki, Presidentm International Federation of University Women.
