He has to learn to behave in ways that are socially acceptable, but finds that the authorities generally are not fit for the task of teaching him. His friendship with a Maori boy develops, and give him insights into important aspects of human relationships. Alan Duff is also the author of 'Once Were Warriors', now a feature film. This 1999 Vintage Paperback is in good condition.
