Holiday Shop Hours & Xmas Orders

We thought it was timely to reach out to you and let you know our shop hours over the holidays and important information about ordering online.

If you want to receive your order by Christmas, it’s best to order by 16 December, as NZ Post have advised that the cutoff is 18 December - after that it may not get to you on time.

We will be closed for a few days over Xmas and New Year’s.

Our hours are:

From Tuesday, 2 January we are back to 7 days, 10am - 5pm

Brand New Books

While we are a second-hand bookshop, we also have a selection of brand new books in stock - so even if you’re after a new book, it may be worth checking out if we have it. All our new books are listed not only on our website but also on Book Hub, the portal for NZ bookshops that sell new books.

Pop-up bookstore at the Performance Arcade

Some of you may have seen the pop-up bookstore we had at the Performance Arcade in 2024. In 2026, we will be back! The Performance Arcade is an annual live art event, held at the Wellington waterfront (behind Te Papa). This year’s theme is “Separation, Transformation, Reconnection” and it will take place from 21 February to 1 March 2026. 

As in 2024, Book Haven will team up with Rebel Press (consisting of the Freedom Shop, Left of the Equator, Lawrence & Gibson, 5ever and Tarakehe Press) to bring you a selection of books relating to the theme, as well as a space for discussions and korero.
