The story of a New Zealand missionary Francis Vernon Douglas who served in the Philippines. During WW2 the Japanese Military thought he was a spy. He was interrogated and tortured by Japanese soldiers but no one knows what happened to him. When news of his disappearance and presumed death he was regarded as a war hero. There is a boys' Catholic secondary school, Francis Douglas College named for him but until my biography was written he was in danger of being forgotten except by those who knew him . He is remembered him as a sport loving, outgoing warm personality who gave his life to protect those he served. This 1998 Claretian Publications Paperback is in good condition.
