About the Author Brian Potiki (Kai Tahu, Kati Mamoe) is a musician, storyteller, poet and playwright. Based in Rotoehu, he tours extensively, performing at schools, libraries, theatres and marae. Since the 1970s Brian has promoted Maori language and identity. He directed the play Te Raukura at Ngati Poneke marae, and his own play Hiroki?s Song has been performed throughout Aotearoa, including at Parihaka Pa; as has Maranga Mai, a ground-breaking work he co-wrote, directed and acted in.
